🧮 How it works
What “random” means here (simple formula)
This tool is a random fact picker. It has curated fact lists (by category),
and each time you generate a result it chooses one fact from the appropriate list.
The core idea is the standard random-index formula:
RandomIndex = ⌊ Math.random() × N ⌋
Where N is the number of facts available in your selected category.
Math.random() returns a number between 0 (inclusive) and 1 (exclusive).
Multiplying by N scales it to the list size, and flooring it converts it
to a valid array index from 0 to N − 1.
The “Randomness level” slider doesn’t change math (random is already random),
but it changes selection behavior: at higher levels, the picker is more likely
to choose from the “spicier” portion of each category list (facts that are a bit more
surprising, unusual, or counterintuitive — still safe, still PG).
📌 Share Score
How we estimate “virality” (lightweight scoring)
A fun tool feels better when it nudges you toward content people actually share.
So every fact gets a playful Share Score from 0–100 based on:
- Novelty signals: words like “first”, “only”, “never”, “largest”, “tiny”, “invisible”.
- Rhythm: short punchy sentences tend to share better.
- Curiosity hooks: “did you know”, “surprisingly”, “scientists found”.
- Category boost: animals, space, and weird-safe often get extra reactions.
This is not science. It’s a content UX helper so you can quickly pick
the facts that get “wait what??” replies.
🧪 Examples
Sample runs (so you know what to expect)
Example 1 (Mixed + Short & punchy): You generate a one-liner fact, then tap Copy and drop it into a group chat.
Example 2 (Space + Mind-blown): You get a longer “mind-blown” fact. You screenshot the result card and post to stories.
Example 3 (Animals + Wholesome): You generate a wholesome animal fact and save it as a favorite for later.
Since the selection is random, your results will be different each time — that’s the point.
✅ Best practices
How to use it like an Omni-level tool
Omni-style calculators are useful because they are fast, clear, and
have enough depth that people trust the page. Here’s the simple workflow:
- Pick a category (or stay on Mixed for variety).
- Generate 5–10 facts.
- Keep the best 1–2 by pressing Save and ★ Favorite.
- Copy/share a favorite. Then try a different vibe to see how it changes.
Over time, your “Saved facts” list becomes a mini personal stash for captions, party prompts,
icebreakers, and “fun learning” moments.
❓ FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is the fact content accurate?
These facts are curated and simplified for quick reading. Treat them as
“fun learning.” If you’re using a fact for something important (school, work, publication),
verify it from a primary source.
-
Why do I get repeats?
Random selection can repeat — especially if a category has a smaller list.
Try a different category, switch the vibe, or increase randomness level.
-
Where are my saved facts stored?
Saved/favorited facts are stored in localStorage on this device and browser only.
Clearing site data or using a new device will remove them.
-
Can I share directly to social apps?
Yes. The Share button uses the browser’s share sheet when available (mobile),
otherwise it copies a share-ready text you can paste anywhere.
-
Is this an “AI fact generator”?
No. This page is intentionally non-AI for speed, safety, and consistency.
It’s a curated random picker with helpful share tools.
