🧮
We’ll use the first N items from your list (or auto-fill if you have fewer).

Adds a countdown after you spin (great for dares and quick tasks).
Quick formatting tips: start “spicy” items with 🔥, “mild” with , or leave plain. Example: 🔥 Text your bestie “I need tea”

🧠 How it works

What this wheel is doing (and how the “fair spin” works)

A spin-the-wheel game feels magical because it turns a big messy decision (“what should we do?”) into a tiny, satisfying moment of randomness. But the best wheels don’t just pick a random item — they also: (1) keep the wheel readable, (2) feel fair, and (3) produce a result you can screenshot and share.

This calculator uses a simple, transparent approach: it converts your challenge list into N segments (you pick N: 6 to 16), then picks a random stopping angle. The segment under the pointer is your result. There’s no hidden bias, no “rigged” weighting, and no paid unlocks — it’s just a clean random picker.

Step 1: Build your segment list

Your list is “one challenge per line.” If you pick 8 segments, we use the first 8 lines. If you have fewer than 8 lines, we auto-fill the remaining slots using the selected vibe preset so the wheel always has enough slices to spin.

Step 2: Spin animation (feel-good physics)

The wheel animation is purely visual. Under the hood, we pick:

  • Base rotations: a few full turns so the spin feels dramatic.
  • Target angle: a random number from 0° to 360°.
  • Easing: a smooth “fast then slow” curve so it looks natural.

Because the target angle is random, each segment has an equal chance (assuming equal segment size). If you want certain challenges to show up more often, the best way is to repeat them in your list (e.g., put the same safe prompt twice). That’s a user-controlled “weighting” — not a hidden one.

Step 3: Intensity meter (a fun “formula”)

A wheel result is more shareable when it has a “score” you can joke about. So this tool also generates a playful Intensity Meter from 0 to 100. It’s not scientific — it’s a vibe label.

The intensity score is based on three parts:

  • Spice setting base: Mild starts lower, Spicy starts higher.
  • Challenge tag hint: If your line begins with ✅ (mild) or 🔥 (spicy), it nudges the score.
  • Spin randomness: a small ± range so two spins don’t feel identical.

Here’s the exact formula we use:

  • Base = 25 (Mild), 45 (Medium), or 65 (Spicy)
  • Tag bonus = +15 if line starts with 🔥, −10 if line starts with ✅, otherwise 0
  • Random jitter = a random integer from −8 to +8
  • Segment bump = (segmentIndex / (N−1)) × 12 (so later segments can be slightly “wilder”)
  • Intensity = clamp(Base + Tag bonus + Random jitter + Segment bump, 0, 100)

Why do this? Because it creates a second shareable output: not just “your challenge is X,” but “your challenge is X and it’s a 78/100 intensity.” People love screenshotting a number.

🔥 Examples

Example wheels you can copy/paste

Use these lists as templates. Paste them into the challenge box (one item per line), choose your vibe, then spin. If you’re playing with a mixed group, start with Mild, then let the wheel “graduate” to Medium/Spicy once everyone’s warmed up.

Example A: Party / Game Night (Medium)

  • ✅ Compliment the person on your left
  • Tell a 10-second embarrassing story
  • Do your best celebrity impression
  • 🔥 Text your bestie “I need tea” (no context)
  • Swap phones with someone for 30 seconds (safe!)
  • Act like a cowboy for 60 seconds
  • Dance like you’re in a music video
  • ✅ Pick the next song

Example B: Creator / Stream Wheel (Spicy but safe)

  • Post a story with “ask me anything”
  • React to your oldest post for 30 seconds
  • 🔥 Read your last DM out loud (redact names)
  • Do a 15-second speed tutorial
  • Give a random viewer a nickname
  • Spin again immediately (double chaos)
  • Make a “hot take” (friendly)
  • ✅ Shout out a small creator

Example C: Productivity Focus Sprint (Mild)

  • 10-minute deep work sprint
  • Inbox zero for 5 minutes
  • Stand up, stretch, hydrate
  • Write the next tiny step
  • Remove one distraction
  • Clean your workspace for 2 minutes
  • Send one “unblocked” message
  • ✅ Celebrate a win (small counts)

Pro tip: The more specific the challenge, the funnier the screenshots. “Do a dance” is fine — “do the weirdest slow-mo runway walk” is viral.

❓ FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this wheel truly random?

Yes. Each segment is equal size and the stop angle is randomly chosen. The animation makes it feel physical, but the outcome is based on a random target angle.

  • How do I make certain challenges show up more often?

Repeat them in your list. If you want “Pick the next song” to appear twice as often, put it in two lines. That effectively gives it two wheel slices.

  • Can I use this for classrooms, teams, or family nights?

Absolutely. Choose “Classroom / Team Icebreaker” and keep the Spice level at Mild. You can also paste your own list (Custom) to match ages, rules, or topics.

  • What does the Intensity Meter mean?

It’s a playful extra number for screenshots. It’s not a scientific measurement. It combines your Spice setting, optional emoji tags (✅/🔥), and a tiny random variation.

  • Does this save my list or my results?

Your last list + recent spin results are saved on this device using your browser’s local storage. If you clear browser data or switch devices, the saved history may disappear.

  • Any safety tips?

Keep it consent-based. Avoid humiliation, risk, illegal stuff, or anything that pressures someone. The funniest wheels are the ones where everyone feels safe enough to be silly.
