This spinner is for entertainment only. If the decision is high-stakes (money, health, safety), use real judgment and talk to someone you trust.

🎡 How it works

What this Yes / No / Maybe Spinner actually does

This calculator is a spinner-style decision randomizer. You type a question (optional), pick a “vibe mode”, then spin the wheel. The wheel lands on Yes, No, or Maybe (with a few playful variations like “Ask later” that still map to Maybe). It’s designed for fast, low-stakes decisions and group-chat entertainment — not serious life choices.

Behind the scenes, the wheel is drawn as equal slices on a canvas. When you hit Spin, we animate a rotation with easing (fast → slow), and when the animation stops, we translate the final angle into the slice you landed on. That’s it: no signups, no tracking — it runs in your browser.

Why it feels “real”
  • Momentum: the wheel accelerates then slows down, like a real spinner.
  • Random seed: each spin uses fresh randomness so repeated spins don’t “pattern”.
  • Clean mapping: final angle → slice index → result label.
The “Yes Energy” score

For extra fun (and screenshots), the spinner also shows a 0–100 “Yes Energy” meter. This isn’t a prediction — it’s a playful number generated from the result type:

  • Yes: typically lands in the 70–100 range.
  • Maybe: typically lands in the 40–69 range.
  • No: typically lands in the 0–39 range.

Then we add a tiny random “spark” (a few points up/down) so two identical outcomes don’t always print the same number.

🧠 Formula breakdown

Angle → slice → outcome (the core math)

Think of the wheel as a circle (360°) split into N equal slices. Each slice covers: sliceAngle = 360 / N. After the spin ends, we know the final rotation angle of the wheel. Because the pointer stays at the top, we convert that angle into a pointer angle and figure out which slice is under the pointer.

Step-by-step
  • 1) Normalize angle: we keep the angle between 0 and 360 using modulo.
  • 2) Flip direction: canvas rotation direction is inverted for pointer math.
  • 3) Compute index: index = floor(pointerAngle / sliceAngle).
  • 4) Read slice: slices[index] contains label + type (Yes/No/Maybe).
Vibe modes (optional weighting)

By default, the wheel slices are balanced. But the vibe mode can add a tiny “flavor bias”: Gentle slightly prefers Yes/Maybe, Chaotic increases “Ask later” style outcomes, and Delulu leans Yes (for fun). This is intentionally small — it keeps the spinner unpredictable, while letting people pick the mood they want for the moment.

Examples
  • Question: “Should I text first?” → Maybe → “Ask later / wait 20 minutes.”
  • Question: “Do I buy the coffee?” (Gentle) → Yes → “Treat yourself.”
  • Question: “Should I quit my job today?” → No → “Not today. Make a plan.”
📌 Best ways to use it

Make it viral (screenshots + group chats)

This tool is built for shareability. If you want maximum “send it to the group chat” energy, use questions that are simple, relatable, and a tiny bit dramatic. Examples:

  • “Do I post it or delete it?”
  • “Is this outfit a yes or a no?”
  • “Should I reply… or let them wonder?”
  • “Do we order dessert?”

After you spin, hit Copy to paste the result into any app, or use WhatsApp / Telegram / X / Facebook / LinkedIn to share instantly. People love comparing results — so the page also lets you save your last spins locally and screenshot the history for “proof.”

Pro tip

If you’re stuck between two options, spin twice: first spin decides Option A, second spin decides Option B. If your reaction is “ugh, I hate that,” you just found your real answer.

❓ FAQs

Frequently asked questions

  • Is this “accurate”? It’s accurate at being random. It’s meant for fun decisions and social sharing — not predictions.
  • Is it biased toward Yes? In Balanced mode, it’s designed to be evenly split. Other modes add only a small playful bias.
  • Does it save my question? No. Your question stays in your browser. Saved results are stored locally on your device only.
  • Why do I see “Ask later” instead of Maybe? “Ask later” is a Maybe-style result. We keep it for variety and meme potential.
  • Can I use it for serious decisions? Use it to break indecision — then apply real judgment. If the topic is high-stakes (money, health, safety), talk to a trusted person or professional.
  • How do I share the exact result? Use Copy, or the WhatsApp/Telegram buttons. The share text includes your question + the outcome + the “Yes Energy” score.
